At long last I am delighted to be finally revealing the results of our bedroom renovation. I know it took us forever, but we have been kind of super busy lately going to weddings, and planning for our own which happened LAST WEEKEND! Yep, we got married on Saturday! Moment of excitement for that please before we move on to bedroom excitement. Wait, that sounds wrong…
Anyway, you can read here all about why we did the bedroom before finishing the home office, and you can read about all the work we did here with some pretty impressive before and durings, but for now, I am just going to let the photos speak for themselves. I’ll post sources etc soon.
It has actually been finished a while now, but I was waiting for a sunny day when I was home to get the best photos, but the weather in Yorkshire was pretty terrible before we left for the wedding (or we were busy and not home to photograph) so I am afraid you have these which are not fantastic, but I hope I can re-take them and add new ones soon. They will do for now, but apologies for the quality. Even with a tripod it was just too dark to leave the light off.
Just a quick reminder for you of what it has looked like since we moved in. In these photos you can’t see the mould or the woodchip wallpaper on every surface, or the random glass panels or shelving. All gone now.
Here’s a reminder of the wall after we removed the glass (I don’t have one of it in situ strangely – too hideous to photograph perhaps!).
And here is the new, shiny and improved bedroom post-renovation, that same wall in fact!
I absolutely love it. I have found myself thinking of reasons to spend time in there, and it really feels like a sanctuary from the rest of the house which is still very much in renovation mode. Our new bed is the most comfortable thing ever – getting up in the mornings is really difficult these days!
There are still a couple of touch-ups to be done to the paintwork, but we’ve packed all the paint away til we resume work after the wedding, and as you can see, the carpet hasn’t been touched. When we are finished with the upstairs renovations we will get new carpet throughout, but I know how messy we are so there’s no point in replacing these grotty things until the very end. Can’t wait.
So – what do you think of our bedroom renovation? Do you love it?
