But I don’t much feel like it!
We have been so busy it has kind of crept up on us this year. Two weekends ago I had planned a festive weekend of Christmas shopping in London to really get me in the mood, but alas the on Thursday I got one of my headaches which lasted until Sunday afternoon, so instead I lay on the sofa for 4 days watching Gilmore Girls from the beginning. Which wasn’t so bad, but I really could have done without the thumping head. The worst thing was that I missed one of my very dear friends’ baby shower down in London, which would have been wonderful fun and a great chance to catch up with lots of old friends. Stupid headache. I had forgotten how much they affected my daily life given that is has been over a year since they last affected me. I pray they are not going to start up again.
And then last weekend was mainly spent on DIY and finishing up a couple of freelance projects.
And now I feel disorganised and guilty about my huge To Do list and basically in a bit of a panic, which isn’t great. I have 50% of my presents, and have yet to wrap any!
I’ve decided the house is as festive as it is getting – with the ongoing DIY it just seems silly to exert effort decorating with all the dust everywhere. However, I had a post to write on my upcycled tree decorations for Roost Blog so I did at least decorate our little faux tree and make it look a little bit cosy and inviting, so we are not completely bah humbugging it!
It actually looks quite nice when the fire is lit!
However, I am not too worried about how our house looks, as we are packing up and heading south this evening down to my parents’ in Somerset. Their house always looks beautiful at Christmas, I can’t wait. What I am not looking forward to is the drive – sometimes 6 hours, sometimes up to 9 if the traffic is bad! Hopefully we have left it late enough this evening to miss the worst of the jams.
I won’t be posting over Christmas because it is always hectic visiting all the family and friends, so I would just like to say happy Christmas to all of my lovely friends and readers. Thank you for bearing with me during my blog silence this year – next year I am planning big things for the blog (and on our renovations and in our personal lives) and I may finally post some wedding and honeymoon pics too, so come back and see me again!
