This is where you can read all about our journey turning our dated and muddled house into our home. We bought it in December 2014 and we have slowly been revamping the entire place, mostly one room at a time, but sometimes getting stuck into bigger projects involving moving walls and changing layouts!
The house is a mid-terrace miners cottage built in 1850. Or rather, it is two of them, that were knocked together in the 1950s, creating all sorts of fun problems and crazy surprises when we look under the floorboards! But, it does mean our little terrace is actually quite a big home, with 4 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and downstairs a large dining room, living room, tiny kitchen and a lean-to shack with a downstairs loo in it. There’s also two separate cellars under each side, two staircases and two chimneys!
2017 is the year we hope to nearly finish the major work to our home, so stay tuned for all our exciting developments, including demolition of the shack (hooray!), and building an extension and knocking through the dining room to create a kitchen-diner.
